[This thread belongs in the FreeAXP forum, and I will move it there shortly.]

FreeAXP uses container files on the host computer for its SCSI disks, not raw disks.

SimH/VAX appears to be able to deal with raw disks and VAX/VMS on it can be clustered with VMS on FreeAXP.

On recent versions of VMS, a logical disk can be created that can be dismounted and copied to the Windows system running FreeAXP where it can be configured for FreeAXP.

It also may be possible for the Magic Disk product to mount a file containing an arbitrary disk image as a read only CDROM, and FreeAXP can be configured to use Magic Disk as a CDROM/DVD.
