Boot failure of FreeAXP was created by gregbaker
When I try to start FreeAXP I get the error "not enough cores to satisfy clamims". I read the other threads which virtual box must have 2 cpu so I tryed 2 then went to 3 ( to see if that fixed it ).

The config I have is a

PC with 4gb, Q6600 CPU, running windows 7 32 bit profesional
VirtualBox runnin windows 2003 server, with 3 cpu and 1.5GB memory

help

Windows 7 64 bit was able to recognize the second core when I added it to my configuration.

Windows XP 32 bit was not. I had to reinstall Windows completely to get it to recognize the second core.

I have not tried to see if Windoww 2003 server bit can dynamically recognize the second processor core after installation.

Simple test: Bring up task manager and look on the performance tab. If you see more than one CPU box, then Windows 7 is using multiple cores. If not, then you have your answer.

I am having to install VirtualBox 3.1.12, set up the guest OSes with the host additions. (Copy that ISO), and then downgrade to VirtualBox 3.1.8 for VMS clustering to work.

Thanks for the reply

when I had the failure first looked to see what was in the forum and found the mention of 2 cores, checked and it only had one so I added a second, restarted it and there was 2,

no problem so far, but I still got the same error meg, so to be sure I added a 3rd core and after the restart there were 3.

so to be it looks like all is ok here but still got the same error message about not enough cores.

.......could it be a version problem ?

Which version of FreeAXP?

Can you successfully run the FreeAXP installation on the host 32-bit Windows system?
