The Free MagicDisk product does not correctly copy ODS-2 format media when making .iso files.

While a directory listing of the images looks correct, the disks will not boot, and executables on them error out when run.

An alternate method using Cygwin appears to work.

$ dd if=/dev/scd0 of=./AlphaVMS_83_Hobby1.iso
1434200+0 records in
1434200+0 records out
734310400 bytes (734 M<img src='../images/smiley/cool.gif' alt='smiley'> copied, 155.792 s, 4.7 MB/s

Cygwin can also be configured as an NFS server, and VMS can use LD on disks that are NFS served.

Bruce Claremont told me in an e-mail that they have had good luck with ImgBurn at www.imgburn.com .

CDburnerXP appears to work too.
