Error installing VMS from hobbyist CD was created by Marc
I would think that my CD is somehow corrupted/damaged, but I've done a checksum comparison with someone else and found that my .iso copy is the same as theirs.
When trying to install VMS onto a new virtual system, I'm getting this error:

Has anyone else seen this? I do see the FILESTRUCT erorr... I did request that the system disk be ODS-5. I guess I should try the installation again with ODS-2 instead.

Well, with ODS-2 selected instead, I get the same error. I guess that the FILESTRUCT error is a red herring.

Marc,
the failing virtual address 58585864 can be interpreted as an ASCII string: dXXX - does this indicate anything to you ?

Nope, that doesn't ring a bell. I've always envisioned a fresh VMS installation as somewhat of a black box experience, so I didn't look too closely at the arguments in the error message.

Try burning the CD to an ISO and installing from the ISO.
What version of FreeAXP?<hr>

I'm using version 1.3.0.351.
This is already an ISO (which I have to use because this is a virtual XP system running on ESXi which doesn't have direct access to a CD-ROM drive).
