FreeAXP and High CPU consomption was created by noneofthis
Hi I'm using those day quiet a lot freeAXP in order to help maintain an very old system running aboard on OPENVMS 7.1
On my FreeAXP (under windows 7 64bits) I have a system image of the real system running under openvms 7.1, I do have some small pb but actually my main concerne is that freeAXP is taking allway not less than 25% of my CPU aven if no activity on the emulated alpha.
I do have look around in the forum , and found tread speaking about charon idle to be install, but:
- some thread seems to say install it
- some thread seems to say do not install it!!
In any case I do have get idle_vms_pkg_3.0.zip but it's not possible to install it on OPENVMS 7.1 (at least do not figure out how).
Could someone give me some advice on how to do so that FreeAXP will stop to use my laptop as a heat machine for my hand (summer days are comming <img src='../images/smiley/smile.gif' alt='smiley'>)!
THanks in advance

Upload the zip archive to the FreeAXP system, unzip it, and run PRODUCT INSTALL against it. That should be all that is required.
