Hello,

I've been experimenting with OpenVMS running on FreeAXP and it all seem to be working nicely, but I'm wondering how I copy files to/and from a (virtual) Files-11 ODS-5 drive to the host's NTFS drive and vice versa. Windows won't mount recognise ODS-5 and OpenVMS won't mount an NTFS volume.

Do I need to set up networking to a CIF server or somesuch? That seems a bit klunky.

TIA!

Options are:
1. Setup a CIFS server on OpenVMS. I have not tried any recent ones from HPE.
2. Setup a Cygwin (32bit) NFS server on the Windows host and NFS mount the volume on OpenVMS as ODS-5 volume.
I think I have some documentation for the second option the sourceforge vms-ports wiki that should be easy to find.

3. Setup an FTP server on the Windows system and use FTP on the OpenVMS system, or the reverse.

Thanks for the reply!

Not that I'm lazy or anything, but which do you think is easiest for an OpenVMS newb like me? ;-)

FTP server on Windows + FTP client on OpenVMS.

Make sure that you transfer files as ASCII or BINARY appropriately.
