Great idea on the simulated CD-ROM and putting it in the Release Notes will definitely help lots of less-informed folks (like me).
I'm trying to avoid putting FreeAXP in a VM since it runs natively on my Vista laptop. However, I sleep-cycle the laptop frequently. If there's no way to stop/start the emulator without rebooting the Alpha (like I can do with SimH/VAX) then a VM is the only solution. I RTFM'd (Release Notes, User's Guide) but found nothing on this.

I use it mostly on an XP-SP2 host which I often put to sleep an wake up again.
For me FreeAXP keeps running after the wakeup, on the console. Nice!
But it does loose the (wirtual) network. Too bad.
I tried both the Microsoft Loopback Adapter and TAP-Win32 Adapter V9
In order to make that network setup work after standby/resume for the host I need to execute: NET STOP MSIPCAP / NET START MSIPCAP
Guess I'll try a system with 2 physical NICs soon, but that will not help my laptop.

Based on all the interest, we'll add a snooze feature to the FreeAXP wish list. I don't know at this point what the ramifications of such a feature would be.

Thanks Bruce, that would be great.
Much nicer if i could just let it keep running.
fwiw, I tried several interfaces MS loopback, TAP adapter, Physical NIC.
No connection comes back until I STOP/START MSIPCAP, for which i have to shutdown the emulator best I can tel..
I'd be happy to to a STOP/START the MSIPCAP before and/or after putting the host system to standby or hibernate, but it tells me it can not stop which the emulator is running
